Celebrate it With Flowers: Birthdays
It is the day of your nieces’ birthday, your sister, mother, father, or brother, hopefully not your spouse, and you have yet to get them a gift. It had totally slipped your mind in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You are hard pressed for time yet you do not want them to think you have forgotten them but what can you do; send a belated card? It might get you off the hook fro your conscious, but is it really delivering the message you want to convey?
Well no need to fret, your florist is there to ease your troubled mind. With a few keystrokes at your online florist site, your gift can be on its way and no one will be the wiser. So how do flowers compare to a traditional store bought birthday gift? Well there really is no comparison. What you can say with flowers a Hallmark card cannot even come close to little lone a gift.
Your florist can help you pick out the perfect arrangement of flowers to show thoughtfulness, love, congratulations and a give it as celebratory look it deserves because birthdays do only come once a year. Flower arrangements or bouquets can express anything from whimsical for a child to a dramatic arrangement for a man, to a soft and enduring look for a woman all while saying have a wonderfully happy birthday.
For a female’s birthday, you may want to consider with the help of your florist an arrangement that matches her personality and vibrancy. If it is a special woman in your life then express not only the joy of the day but the love shared as well with something softer yet festive. A mother would love a floral arrangement in her favorite flowers. Not only would she know you were thinking of her but you recalled her favorite flowers. It does not get much more enduring then that. What ever the female’s role is in your life from family to friend or secretary, flowers will definitely bring a smile to their face. Maybe it is your daughters sweet 16, imagine her surprise if you sent her a dozen roses to her at school. You would be the most talked about parent and your daughter would be beaming with pride.
For a male’s birthday, flowers can be a hit as well. Mocking the colors of the arrangement to match his favorite sports team or favorite colors is sure to be a hit. If the male is a naturalist, stick to neutral tones, possibly a plant with flower accents. Avoid the use of pink and pastel colored flowers, and if used should only be done as very slight accents. For the younger males in your life such as sons and nephews, your florist can help you make an arrangement often incorporating popular toy trends. Again, sports themes work well with young men/boys. Depending on the age of the young male, careful consideration should be used before sending to a school. On celebratory events such as going to state, an arrangement depicting the team’s colors would be acceptable and well received, but for a birthday, may cause embarrassment for a boy as maturity levels are not completely developed yet.
Your florist and you can save the anguish of a missed birthday and make that special someone smile on his or her joyous day.

How can you celebrate the birthday of a loved one who has just passed? What flowers are appropriate to use?
My grandfather passed away late last year, and his birthday is coming up. We are going to celebrate rather than mourn, and I was looking for some ideas of decorations, activites or favors to give. I was thinking about giving little satin bags with seeds (flower seeds) to each family to plant. Any idea on what flower might be approporiate? I also wanted to release baloons (one for each year he lived) at the end of the day? Any input?

It isn’t appropriate to have a party. Light a candle or something.
